Build a Pair of Sawhorses

One-day Workshop

Saturday August 10 (9:00am – 4:00pm)

Instructor: Julie Hildebrand

If you would like to learn more about carpentry, this course is a good place to start. An important aspect of taking on a project is to have the right set up to work on it. Sawhorses provide an ergonomic and safe place for this. In this course you will learn the basics of using a circular saw, chisel, mitre saw and drill/impact driver. We will be cutting some joinery and assembling with screws. By the end of the day you will have built your own pair of sawhorses to take home with you.

We will be standing for most of a day, swinging a hammer, performing repetitive tasks, using our fine motor skills, and focusing on one task for a number of hours. Participants should have an openness to power tools as these sawhorses will come together with a mix of joinery and screws.

There is no minimum age for this class, as long as participants are interested and engaged they are welcome.

You will be taking home your two hand-make sawhorses
$50.00 material fee. This covers the price of the lumber (cut and milled on the Cordwood property)

A fresh, homemade lunch and a morning snack/coffee included. All dietary needs accommodated.
