Shearing School for Beginners (three-day course)
Students will learn shearing setup, sheep handling, handpiece setup, staying healthy while shearing, and the handling of wool.
Some other topics will include:

Techniques and quality methods of shearing for better efficiency and the improved harvest of the wool clip.

Gear preparation, tool maintenance and grinding techniques

This is a three-day course with the following layout:
Friday, October 2nd (6:00pm-8:30pm)
Saturday, October 3th & Sunday, October 4th (8:00am-5:00pm)
Courses are limited to small groups to ensure a high instructor-to-student ratio (3:1). All instructors are experienced, professional shearers.
Disclaimer: this course is very physical. We will have a yoga instructor, leading some stretches and exercises both Saturday and Sunday mornings. They will focus on the areas most used and strained while shearing.
