An Introduction to Islamic Geometry
This full day workshop will serve as an introduction to Islamic geometric patterns. Participants will learn about the different families of patterns and draw a pattern for each, using the same methods craftsmen have been using across the Islamic world for centuries.
You will learn how to transfer the patterns onto watercolour paper and embellish them with a double weave. If time permits, you may choose a favourite pattern to colour or paint.
Participants will receive a handout package with instructions for pattern construction.

Bastou exemplifies precision and attention to detail in both his art and instruction. An excellent class and a new skill that I will apply in my own life. – Ben Hendry
