In this two day class we will be making round willow baskets utilizing the rope coil weave. Ropecoil is a special weaving technique utilizing small willow that is twisted into a single strand and then woven as one element. 

We will be using cultivated basketry willows grown in Ontario by Lakeshore Willows. However, the techniques that you will be learning can also be used with wild willow, dogwood, or any other found woody materials that have the same long, flexible characteristics.

This class is open to anyone ages 16+. No previous weaving experience is required.

Baskets will be approximately 12” in diameter.

DISCLAIMER: Weaving willow is physically challenging. If you have difficulty working with your hands for long periods of time, this class may not be right for you. We suggest you try a one day introductory class to get a feel for the process.
