Willow Garden Supports; Peony Crowns

Half-day workshop

Wednesday, June 11 (8:30am – 12:30pm)

In this half-day workshop you will learn how to weave a 18″ wide willow “grow-through” plant support (or crown). These are great for peonies and any number of plants that will stand a little taller and fuller if they have some structure to lean on.

June is a good time of year to get these supports in place, when the plants are small and just starting to feel the warmth, longer days, and ready to take off!

All materials and tools are provided. Additional materials/kits can be purchased to take home with you. Surely, there are lots of plants that will benefit from these supports and it’s good to do the project again while the process is fresh in your mind.

Disclaimer: Weaving with willow can be physically challenging and require moderate hand strength. Please consider how a morning of twisting your wrists, and applying pointed pressure with your fingers will leave you feeling. If you foresee having difficulty working with your hands for a four hour stretch in this way, this class may not be right for you.
